Patients should not collect samples three days before, during, or three days after their menstrual period, if they have bleeding hemorrhoids, blood in their urine, open cuts on their hands, or if they have strained during their bowel movement.

Reference Ranges
- Positive Test result confirms the presence of fecal occult blood above the threshold of normal and is indicated by two pink lines, test and control lines, visible in the reading window. Any trace of a pink line in the test line area is a positive test result.
- A Negative Test, indicating no fecal occult blood was detected, shows only the Control line. There will be no trace of a pink line in the test line area.
- The test Invalid if the control line does not appear. If this occurs, the test should be repeated.
